More Email Fun

This time with someone offering us money. Enjoy.

Before we start, I’d like to note that we don’t email in blue.  I changed it so you, our readers, could more easily separate who’s saying what.

Hi,

I was reading some of your articles in eutawstreethooligans.wordpress.com, and I was interested in some kind of baseball advertising for a client in your articles. Would that be something that might interest you?

Sure.  What’s the deal?

Hi,

We are running a small campaign for our client www.shitpancakes.com. Our interest is to have a new MLB article in your site (content page) either written from you or one of our writers with a permanent link to our client’s website.

The link inside the article could be Baseball and Shitpancakes – This should direct to: http://www.shitpancakes.com/shit/pancakes/questionsontastieness/

This is an example of one of the links we paid if you want to take a look:

http://arepancakesmadeofshit.org/actually-shitty/an-in-depth-look/41056

We ask for exclusivity at least in the content area (this to give more value to your site and our client’s site).

How much would you charge for that?

If we right the article, how much does it need to be centered on shitpancakes.com?  could we write an article about regular pancakes and say, when we eat pancakes, we don’t eat shitpancakes.com but everyone else should try them? (ed.note this sentence was changed because after getting half way through the shit-pancakes thing, I realized this sentence would make us look like we enjoy eating shit-pancakes and we don’t.  red sox fans do…you’ll see. I’m too lazy to go back and redo it all so deal. the rest is word for word)

something like that?  or is this a more over the top, in your face kind of thing?

i’m not too keen on having ads in our borders and what not, and i don’t even think we can with our current host.  but if it’s just a link in our site…we can swing that.

Hi,

The article doesn’t has to be about shitpancakes, it just has to be about baseball or any other sport you write about. In there you just insert the link for it to seem very natural in your site. Here’s an example of one of the links we paid:

Let me know if you have more questions.

OK…and what did you pay for that?

How is payment made?
How often are you looking to do this?
_________________________________________

Hi,

We want to do this once. In a site with a page rank 3 and more than 130 external links such as yours we usually pay $50 onetime payment. But I can push to $75 if you give shitpancakes a Facebook “like” and a Twitter “follow”.

We have 3  options for paying out:

1. Shitpancakes credit for the double of the amount we pay for a link ($150)*24 hours

2. Amazon certificate for the amount of $75*2 days

3. Through PayPal, this one takes 5 business days once the request is done, pretty much because of the limits that as a company we must follow with PayPal.

When do you think you can have the article published?

my colleagues and I discussed and we’re going to pass.  As one put it, 75 bucks isn’t enough to sell out for the first time.

thanks for thinking of us though.  good luck with your campaign.

Um…is there a price you can put on integrity?  Is there a price you can put on being true to oneself?  Is there a price you can put on being soul-bloggers? Yes.  It’s 1,000 dollars.

I hope you enjoyed that.  I love email.
